Model is part of a web extension to the exhibition Prague 1848 – 1918 City of Prague Museum

Wooden table from carved wood was part of offer by U města Paříže, a mall with decorative items and toys, which was located in Celetná street nr. 15. The mall U města Paříže was operational from half of 19th century until the end of 1920s. It offered luxury goods to Prague citizens as well as to visitors. The meaning of mall at that time was more of a store with large shopping area in multiple rooms. According to guide from 19th century it was “beautifully furnished…, with cellars and two floors. Employing 50 gentlemen and 10 ladies.”
